the bloody door's off
Got a new fridge freezer today. It's a beast!
Got help from Sue to go and collect it and then back to mine where Steve came and helped to get it in the house. Poor Sue had to endure my navigation skills. We were meant to be getting the fridge in Broxburn and ended up in bloody Harthill! I have a sat nav on my phone as well (which I hadn't turned on...!). Oh well, we got there in the end!
The guy who sold me the fridge/freezer was class. He was either partially or completely blind, but he taped the thing up, carried it to the car (backwards, down some steps!) and roped the whole thing up so it wouldn't fall out the boot. Totally amazing. He's asked us to sign up to help with a cycle race next May that he organises for Guide Dogs for the blind. Both Sue and I came away 100% sure that we will.
We had to take the kitchen door off to get the bloody fridge in! This was a bonus, however, as I'd wanted it off anyway.
All the doors in the house seem like boring modern type doors, but when you knock them, there are hollow areas. Steve and I decided that, seeing as the door that we'd just taken off wasn't going to any use anyway, we would attack it with a hammer. And, lo and behold, there's a beautiful old door underneath all that awful chipboard!
Will strip this one as a practice run and then I can work my way around all the doors in the house.
Result :)
