Like a snowflake.....
.....on a river, a moment there then gone forever......(Robert Burns)
That was my grandpa's favourite quote. He used to say it all the time to me as a child to try to get me to underdstand how quickly life passes and how we have to sieze the day and not waste a moment!
Of course as a child a day seemed like a month to me and a year seemed like forever, so it was with utter shock that I awoke to the realisation that not only was it David's birthday on Friday, but that this now means I am married to a 45 year old!!! How the hell did that happen? I mean, I'm not even 30 yet! Am I? Oh sh*t!!!! Now, more than ever, do I fully understand my grandpa's lesson. It's going to form the basis of my New Year's Resolutions but more of them another day!
Lie in this morning to aviod a hangover clearing up the kitchen. D has been into town getting the last of the pressies (ie mine! :-) Flying visit from Ele & Kenny with D's birthday pressie then just after they left Agnes, Adrian and Emily arrived so had a pleasant hour with them drinking coffee, eating cake and catching up.
Finally got the tree decorated but have had to stop decorating the rest of the house to blip and get the dinner on for us and my lovely stepdad John who's due to arrive any minute.
Now I can relax and enjoy the run up to Christmas and my fav day of all - Christmas Eve. The anticipation's always the best bit! ;-))
Hope you're all having a great weekend. Managed to catch up with some of your journals today and hope to get round some more later.
