Emily Geraghty.
Today was the 4th birthday of my number 1 grandson, Stephen Malcolm. Forgive me but I chose as my entry for today, an image of my number one granddaughter Emily. I finally admitted to myself, what I have suspected for some time, that my little girl has grown up. No surprise there, but the speed which this has happened in. She started high school in September, and it really only seems like moments ago when she herself was born. It was predicted by the people who carried out the scans, that she was in fact a boy. Well, surprise surprise she is not. She is in fact a beautiful young lady, and to me represents what I would consider to be a Celtic princess, with her colouring and fine features. She takes the colouring from her father Mark, who is number 1 son. Her features, she inherits from her mother and grandmother. The lovely thing about children, is the characteristics they inherit. Some features skip generations and manifest themselves in such a way, that some couples have been known to argue. My youngest son David, is the absolute spit of my father, his grandfather, and he even has the same gait as my dad. When I see him walking, it sometimes makes sad and happy at the same time. I have come across families, where the sons even have the same intonation of voice. People who have read my ramblings in the past, may have come across the idea that everlasting life, is to keep the seed planted as it were, and that everlasting life is not some ridiculous idea of dwelling in heaven, but the succession of the seed that is within us. Long may it continue to do so.
