So I didn't fancy either of those hackneyed bits - and just grabbed this on the way out of the room!

#2 daughter (teacher) is home for a few Christmas days from Italy. She is the black blob on the left - it's a hat! On the right her good friend Kate (hospital doctor in Glasgow) who called in today to say hello.

When we moved to Edinburgh 13 years ago, Jennifer (#2) was just about to go into S5. So she had to set off to a whole new school, and was not terribly impressed by the idea. Sitting outside the Head's Office waiting to be greeted, two girls came along the corridor and said - "Hello - you're new! We're Sarah and Kate!"

Pleased she came home to report! #1 daughter said - "Oh I don't like the sound of that - you get all these drug dealers around schools just looking for new people to draw in...." (Which is standard #1 stuff.... lol)

But through thick and thin those three girls have been together from that day on - they have travelled the world - worked together two of them in Canada - and now one is in Italy, one in Saudi Arabia, one in Scotland. But they will never not be friends......
