Christmas in Bahrain

Went to the Golden Tulip Hotel for hubby's work Christmas lunch for the ex pats in Bahrain and Saudi. Didn't take the camera so just took a few pictures with the BB, which certainly aren't good after a few glasses of wine!

The hotels have all gone out of their way to make Christmas real for all those far away from home. The Christmas lights and decorations have been amazing, shops are full of big turkeys etc. Nice retail opportunity I know but still makes us feel at home in a Muslim country.

Christmas is always depicted by snowmen but having never really seen snow, being in a nice warm desert feels more like home to me. Off to lie in the sun now but am enjoying all the 'snow blips' from afar!
