Christmas Ships

It is a 60 year tradition in Seattle for many boats to gather each night in the month of December and give a concert (from one of the large ones with a choir aboard) at a different spot on the lakes each night. Tonight was the finale right in front of us. I took some shots from our roof deck and then went out to the dock - so many beautiful lights on such a spectacularly clear (dry!) night - it was hard to choose but decided on this one in motion at the end when they were starting to disperse. It's a sailboat, not a huge yacht and you can see the bridge and gasworks park where lots of people were gathered.

We discovered our refrigerator was broken last night but miraculously we were able to find a repairman this morning who replaced a part and all was well! We felt so lucky that we decided to celebrate with a movie :-) and walked to a theater to see the American "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo." Being Swedish, we love to see Sweden in movies, and the leads are indeed marvelous, but honestly I think the original Swedish film was better. I swore I wouldn't go to the American version, but curiosity won out. It's such an ugly story.
