investigations of a dag

Still there..

the occupy protesters in Edinburgh are certainly a hardy bunch. They've lasted hurricane bawbag, freezing temperatures and now the Christmas shopper onslaught.

I've heard and seen good and bad things about it. Since an attack on the Glasgow camp they've appointed some neon vested security guards. Self-appointed and a tad defensive, it's a sad cliche but they are on a bit of a power trip. Have seen a few scuffles with homeless folks and photographers etc... Just makes me a little sad how little their plans have varied from the cliche. (a community of optimists ends up becoming hierarchical and territorial anyway.. blah blah blah). That said the occupy movement globally has at least created a different (or little heard) perspective on the current economic meltdown and injected a bit of life into the eternal vigilance of democracy. Good things I think. And even in the Edinburgh camp I have seen some good things come out of it. You have to respect the fact they have lasted this long.

otherwise for me, it's general Christmas meltdown time hence the back blip. This was the only photo I took today!!
