Christmas express
being a bit run down by the speeding lit locomotion of Christmas
the picture is the train currently taking punters up and down princess st. Why oh why we don't just opt for this instead of the trams I'll never know. Had an embarrassing incident with it earlier this week when I went for lunchtime run and it exactly matched my pace step for step. I realised I had to step up a gear and overtake it or be left staring into the bemused eyes of a passenger for the length of princess st... this was easier said than done..
in the last 24 hours I have..
- finished up work (ho ha) and attended pub do
- caught up with friend G for lunch and exchanged terrible gingerbread for lovely present
- caught up with friend R and exchanged terrible gingerbread for lovely present in another pub over dinner (theme emerging)
- went round to cousin F's, seen his lovely blossoming daughters L and O, his lovely new girlfriend and family and played along some fancy-dan computer game where you mimic the dance moves of the on-screen (thinner) avatar. Exchanged some gingerbread in return for being sumptuously fed and watered.
- started and finished all Christmas shopping, including one that required printing off about 200 old photos and putting them into albums. And including returning the "perfect" present for nephew. There's a reason I could really visualise him liking it. He already had it. I'd lost the receipt and was made to feel like a criminal in exchange for a gift card. Lovely.
what I haven't done yet..
- more gingerbread
- any christmas cards!!
- get my Christmas decorations up
- got a run in, but developing a doggy cough so may lay off that sadly.
what has started yet
- a bit of a fizzy feeling in my tummy looking at lots of photo's of Christmas past. Might be indigestion from all the chocolate I'm training myself up on, or excitement.. or both
