Drip

The weather folks had it right - more rain starting today. It would be nice if they'd got the rest of the forecast wrong but somehow I doubt it.

"Rain, heavy falls, easing night. Southeast developing."

We so do not need any more rain. Please let there be no more flooding, slips or disasters for the region to deal with. We're holding our breaths for the next 24 hours.

Went to the movies tonight for the first time in a long time. Meryl Streep is wonderful anyway, but her performance in "The Iron Lady" was magnificent. It was quite sobering having some of England's [recent-ish] history portrayed so well on the screen and some of it brought back a lot of memories - like going to bed on the evening that our battle ships were deployed to defend the Falkland Islands knowing that when I woke the next day we could be at war but not knowing what that could possibly mean in real terms. There was a real sense of fear.

Let's hope our weather fears are unrealised tomorrow.
