Fading

What a very windy day yesterday and last night. I was expecting to see some damage around the village but everything seems okay.

This rose is from a bouquet I was given on Christmas day. I find that cut roses don't last very long at the best of times but these ones seen to have started fading very fast. I guess they are picked and in the shops earlier than normal.

It kind of reminded me of Christmas. All the build up to the 'full bloom' of the day itself and how quickly the sparkle seems to fade.
