'family'...

I guess we are what you call the 'modern' family...

Today was spent visiting grandparents and step grandparents, ex husband's ex wife's, my children's half sisters and stepmother, accompanied by my children and step child.

Tonight was a celebration with our blended family, friends and their adopted child.

It is not straight forward, nor the 'norm' but it works, it was lovely and it still is 'family'.

Here is to a New Year full of understanding and acceptance - that in certain things (like families) there are no right ways and wrong ways how they are put together as long as there is love, patience, respect and tolerance.

I know, I have seen and lived it - it is the true reality of family life in 2012!
