Is this Winter?

Blue sky, roses in bloom; I think I'm going to like 2012!

It might not be the best of roses, but this is Scotland. This time last year, we'd had lying snow for nearly a month, and ice had brought our gutters down. Will the roses last until the snowdrops come out, I wonder?
