Dr. J's Day

Avenue of the Giants

We had a glorious sleep in, had breakfast and then packed up.

We drove farther west on the 36W through Bridgeville on Alderpoint Rd to Cemetary Rd. Our GPS was definitely taking us through some areas that looked like private properties, and we weren't really interested in being caught trespassing in Humbolt county. Here are some pics that someone else had posted that do this drive justice - amazing rolling hills and gorgeous sweeping panoramas.

Got to the Avenue of the Giants and walked around there for a while. We also found this amazing garage full of old cars and chatted with the owner for a bit. I forgot to write down the name of the garage, but it is in Miranda, CA. Lots of 40's and 50's Dodge pickups and other beauties.

After our hike, we continued on the PCH up to Eureka, CA. We had a super tasty lunch at the Lost Coast Brewery. We left with a case of beers and full stomachs.

Then it was time to find our lodging for the night and we ended up at the Sea Cliff Motel in Trinidad, CA. We had a nice nap, then headed out to Trinidad Bay to take some breathtaking pictures.

Afterward we had dinner at Humboldt Brews in Arcata.

Yet another fantastic day.
