A New Year's Row

Happy 2012!! A pretty busy day on this lazy island. Lovely Brunch at friends (islandcat) and then the water was so good we put our Alden rowing shell in the water for a New Year row. As we were rowing by a nearby small island we noticed that their boat was hanging off their dock by one frayed bowline. So we stopped and H got off to try to secure it - I couldn't get off easily so I got out my iPhone to take pictures while I sat and waited. Hence the oar. Kind of liked this angle- their boat was now tied up. (too bad it's not one of those 2 balloon birthdays for me!)
Ended the afternoon with a nice warm wood fired sauna (shared with Islandcat and her friend) plus drink/snack/chat.
Tomorrow I intend to be quiet! (and browse blip some...altho it's not so easy with just this little phone.)
