The Sma' Glen
What was going to be a walk up Glen Almond, turned into a circular drive thru the Sma' Glen and back via Dunkeld with a wee detour up Glen Quaich. It was dry when we left Perth, it was dry when we arrived at Glen Almond and the sky was blue, but in between it had been a trifle damp. We debated what to do but in the end a leisurely drive won out over a leisurely and possibly damp wander.
Today's photo is of the River Almond looking up the Sma' Glen, taken when it was still a trifle damp. I'd liked how there was the promise of blue sky ahead and an escape from the rain, but I was lazy and only took out the wee camera and it just wasn't up to the job. I've cropped out the burnt out sky leaving the river, trees and distant mountains with a few patches of snow.
I notice from other birder's blips there's talk of starting their New Year Birding List, well even though we'll not put the same effort in this year as last year, there'll still be a list, so today we saw 12 birds, yes that's right a whole TWELVE birds and not a single decent photo, so sorry RCB, you've got a gap.
