Atishoo!

For the last 24 hours I've been coughing, sniffing, shivering, hallucinating - and feeling utterly miserable. I've created a bedside mountain of crumpled mentholated tissues and drunk a lake of Ribena. Yes, the first cold of the year is here.

Hurrah then for the wonderful Jools, who made me Heinz tomato soup and hot buttered rolls at lunchtime, took over walking Sunny without complaint, did the shopping and has kept me company throughout the day.

Hurrah also for Pinterest, which is about all my cotton-wool mind can concentrate on today, and for Film4, which is showing the suitably non-taxing yet (hopefully) entertaining film The Golden Compass this evening.
