Trickle + Storm = River

First day back in work since 16th December 2011 and it wasn't a bad one. However, the trip in wasn't the best as the storm from hell descended on the UK overnight, meaning it was blowing a gale and chucking it down. The roads were pretty bad with a lot of surface water and of course it's dark at 6am in the morning, but despite this you still had some nutters on the M4 who were driving anything from 80mph to 100mph. Is work that important you have to be there at all costs? I don't think so!

I thought I was going to be denied my usual lunchtime walk but thankfully the storm had cleared by then so I was able to venture out. This is a shot of what is normally a stream that runs down the side of the church, normally it is a trickle but as you can see today there is a substantial amount of water flowing through.

I even turned down a free lunch today after a meeting got cancelled, but it was hard to tell whether the sandwiches were animal, mineral or vegetable so I think I was wise to give them a miss. Lol!

As I said the day wasn't a bad one but one phone call after leaving work tonight has set the tone for my mood this evening. :(
