Pawns in the Game of Life

Spent today clearing and cleaning.Came upon the chess board which the 'boys' had been playing on.Hubby used to be a chess champion in his school days, oh so many years ago but hardly ever touches it now, probably because I have a few problems comprehending the rules! I have all the will in the world yet still have problems, mainly with my concentration!!
It got me thinking that life is like a game of chess, changing with each and every move.Mistakes are there just waiting to be made .In chess you have to have a fighting spirit and you have to force moves and take chances.And so it is in real life.We are just like pawns in the game of life,each individual being of little worth but together able to combat much greater forces.However, on a more positive note and as the Irish saying goes ,"When the Chess game is over, the Pawn and the King go back to the same box"
