Caught Lifting the Trash!

Because Monday was a holiday, because Sunday was really the holiday, the trash collectors had to collect twice as much today. Well, I don't know if that's true; maybe they just skipped collecting the trash in the neighborhoods where they usually go on Mondays, but I think they did twice as much work today because I believe they collected for all the Monday customers and for all the Tuesday customers. We are Tuesday customers.

We weren't sure if they would be here today, but just to be safe, Mr. Fun put the trash cans out at the curb. Good thing -- the truck was here about 4:00 p.m. There were two other trash trucks circling the neighborhood. One truck collects the recycle trash, one collects the green lawn and shrub trimmings, and one collects the trash. It's complicated!

I've been told all my life that trash collectors earn fabulous money. I've never done the research to learn if that's true. I think the job must be interesting; I'd like to try it for a day. I wonder if it's difficult to align the "arms" of the truck with the trash can so it can be lifted and then dumped.

I was in the backyard when I heard this truck making its noisy way through our neighborhood. So I did what comes natural. I've been doing it for almost three years now, I pulled my camera from my pocket and clicked. And . . .

. . . I caught this truck "lifting the trash" can.

If you think my day has been boring, you're wrong. It's been one leisurely day. We didn't do anything or go anywhere -- "boring" -- No! Enjoyable, Yes!

Tomorrow is the big 1,095. I promise I'll blip something other than a trash truck.

Good night from a summer-like Southern California.
