Bracelet/Thoughts
I went mall hopping today and decided to buy a little trinket for myself. A boutique selling vintage-looking accessories caught my attention.
Everything inside the store is so interesting. Bottle caps, dominoes, old cassette tapes and even screws were magically turned into pendants, bracelets, necklaces and other accessories. I find it hard choosing!
I settled with the cheapest good they have since I am saving for my piano lessons. I picked this bracelet charmed with Shakespeare's portrait. I am not a huge fan of Shakespeare, though. In fact, I was only able to read Hamlet and Romeo and Juliet.
I pondered hard on Hamlet during our Junior High, especially on this quote: "To be or not to be, that is the question."
Is it better to exist in a world full of hardship and pain or to not exist at all? Then, I realized without pain, there can be no notion of what pleasurable is. Without hardship, there can be no comfort. Without any feelings of hate, there can be no feelings of love. Without death, there can be no life.
Perhaps, it is better to exist because it is the only way we can feel and enjoy the biggest contradiction called life.
