Winter blooms
Popped out for a walk just as it started raining. Had to be content with a very short stroll. I was looking for more evidence of the damage the high winds did yesterday. There was lots of debris on the roads and pavements but no more fallen trees. I decided to head back after taking a few pictures of catkins blowing in the wind. It was getting too wet and cold.
I stopped off in the tiny garden at work and found these small pink blossoms. I'm not sure what they are - Japanese quince? (Chaenomeles?). They looked very bright and cheerful in an otherwise gloomy, cold, wet and windy day.
