Happy Birthday Dad

Its my lovely lovely dads birthday. He is 61! Last year we went to Liverpool for his 60th. It ranks in one of my top 5 days ever! We went to the childhood homes of John Lennon and Paul McCartney and then we went to see Robert Plant in concert. We did it a few months before his 60th and then we had a party. Brilliant.

Anyway tonight I bought him a ukulele. I love mine and can play it quite well. He was very pleased and even looks like he knows what he is doing in the picture. :)

He has been a huge influence in my life. Growing up with him as a Dad was an education in itself from politics to music to comedy to science fiction to films. I align myself happily with a great number of his great loves from the Beatles to Monty Python. I draw the line at Pink Floyd. I know they are great but they are not my cup of tea. I also think there are not many people of my age who can name the man who played Robin Hood in the original TV series.

I was very lucky to be born to the parents I was and I appreciate them greatly x
