I am in no way religious, especially having lived in NI all of my life, but I found this church spire with its lit purple cross in the window on the spire quite striking. I had intended to take some shots of the political murals on the Newtownards Road when I pulled into a side street to turn my car, and spotted this view out of my side window. The church fence was a bit of a barrier, so I used just two legs of my tripod and poked my lens through the wrought iron using the fence to steady the camera. The yellow on the left of the spire comes from those 'orrible yellow street lights on the Newtownards Road, placed throughout Belfast and Bangor to frustrate amateur photographers like myself. Thankfully, not too much of it gets into this alleyway.
The slowness of the Blipfoto site is really winding me up. When commenting, I generally work though my subs from top to bottom, A to Z, etc, so apologies to anyone near the bottom of the list as I'm ready to fire my computer through the nearest window by the time I get to poor Mariner! (Isn't his shot awesome?)
