CHAMPION

This time last year Micheal Vink ( an under 23 rider ) stole a March on the field and was leading the New Zealand Road Cycling champs held in Christchchurch - but he punctured twice and got over-taken on the last lap of the 180K Bike race.

This Year Michael ( still under23) got away on the second to last lap of 12 over the hilly course with a lead of 59 seconds - this was eventually whitled down to his great victory by 9 seconds. Michael won the under 23 again but silly as it sounds he cant win the Natioanl Champs even though he was first across the line !!! ???
