SHAG LANDING
I havent been to the shag colony at Redcliffs since - well before the 23 Dec last year when we had our last big Earthquake. It took out quite a lot of the cliff face there. I would not like to have been there at that time - instead i was on the Waitikiri Golf course almost on top of the Epicentre for that quake. Today I decided to clamber around the newly fallen boulders amidst the din of a heap of gulls and their teenage newbies. Most of the new Spotted Shags are teenagers now making little sortee's to the water from the cliff face. Here's one returning to the nest. No earthquakes I'm pleased to report - and it wasnt without me thinking of my position - get out of there Poo - Hmmm there was a bit of that too from dive-bombing gulls
