Thames view

I felt a bit out of sorts today, like I had a hangover, except it couldn't be because I had only two weak beers and a cup of tea last night. So my one day off work (because I'm working tomorrow) was a day off in all senses of the word. I tried not to do any thinking and managed a walk along the Thames in a bit of sun. A friend had recommended visiting the National Theatre to see Take a View: Landscape Photographer of the Year, which had some inspiring photographs all taken by swish cameras (mainly Canon 5Ds from what I could see). I did see one taken by a Lumix, which is encouraging.

I drank a steamed milk in Eat on the South Bank and watched various staff attempt to dislodge a pigeon that had roosted above the cafe door on the inside to stare at the customers' cakes with predatory interest. A long-handled brush and a flutter of feathers later, the pigeon was staring in from the outside - a little colder and further from its prey, but otherwise no harm done.

Continuing with the non-thinking, I watched The Hangover, which was just the right level for my brain and kept me entertained until sleep-time.
