Gotcha
My plan was to try to capture chickadees at my bird feeder today. I set out a chair, a blanket, had a little something to sip on, (it is January, after all) and planted myself a reasonable distance from the feeders,. Focused in, set the exposure... some days those bird feeders are empty in two hours. This was not that day. No birds. Not one.
As the sun started to sink lower in the sky, I decided to go tromp around the little frozen swampy area behind our town houses to see if I could find some birds. Plus, I was getting a little chilled sitting there.
Frozen, swampy areas are super hard to sneak around in. I could see the chickadees hopping around in the bushes but by the time I got to where they had been they were long gone.
Then I heard this guy. Woodpecker. Not sure what his formal name is. I think he is a Red Headed Woodpecker. I was able to snap a couple of pictures of him before he was too far away.
Taking great pictures of birds is no small talent. I have a very long way to go.
