The Never Ending Story

Heard of the soft shoe shuffle? Today, I have given a new meaning to the phrase.
This is a conversation which took place first thing this morning, as I endeavoured to replace and 'shuffle around' the contents of the walk in wardrobes after they were redecorated yesterday.
Hubby:"Do you know you have X pairs of slippers back in that wardrobe?" (daren't say how many but let's just say it's a never ending line or a mountain to climb)
ME:"Yeah, they are reserves incase my slippers wear out."
Hubby:"---but you don't wear slippers!!"
EXCUSE: "Hoarding is not my choice .It's in my DNA! 'I was born this way!' Besides, I'm not a hoarder, I just don't have enough space!" (says she who has just decanted into what was hubby's walk in and is now the proud owner of 'to wear' or 'not to wear' wardrobes !!!)
Wouldn't care but most of them are freebie bath slippers , (half of which are man sized) from ships , hotels and other places we have been.
One thing is certain,if you should ever come to visit, I will always be able to provide you with a courtesy pair of slippers.
