....God's gonna buy you a satellite....
I know it's not the best shot ever....but I couldn't resist this tonight....a satellite dish with one of the Earth's satellites behind it.
One of the Earth's satellites? Oh yes....we have two you know....one we all know and recognise which we call the Moon....and the other one...called Cruithne..... which has a diameter of only 3 miles and has a horseshoe orbit and a period of 770 years...which means none of us are ever likely to see it! It's presence was first suggested in the late 19th Century but was only confirmed in 1997.
In fact it is more likely to be not a true moon but a NEA.......Near Earth Asteroid which shares our orbit round the Sun.....at least for the next 10,000 years or so.
You see I'm probably just as big a space geek as hebs....only without the Brian Cox fixation!!!!!!
More reasons to be cheerful:
1. Got to work this morning and realised this half term is only 5 weeks not six! I'm on a weeks holiday from February 10th, which means hebs and I are both off school on our birthdays....perhaps we should meet up for a blip day?
2. Got home today...and it was still light! First time for a long time.
3. The Boss has a fancy new haircut....and has gone really blonde instead of her natural mousy colour.....very glam.
4. We have a week off the quiz this week....not sure I would have lasted after first day back at work.
5. Once I've posted this blip I'm going to have a vodka and an early night for a change.
