Kaybees Bits

Saved?

Went out to a local reservoir tonight with a couple other members of the camera club.

Although it is meant for drinking water it is also a popular fishing establisment.

Had a walk and took a few uninspiring shots.

We then found this wee chap/chapess - hanging about 9'-10' off the ground caught by a fishing hook though its tail with a load of line (and another couple of hooks).

At first we thought it was dead - until it opened a wing.

It must have been hanging there all day (since they are not lovers of daylight) and was exhausted.

With a bit of trouble we managed to lift the smallest/youngest of us high enough to cut the poor devil down and unhook unhook it.

We expected its heart to give up through shock - but No.

It was put into a flashgun bag and has been brought home. If it survives the night (it is presently in a tank with some young stick insects and moths) we will take it to the local zoo/animal refuge.

It is a Pipistrelle by the way
