Good news
1. So immersed in the situation and the worry about what might happen it doesn't cross our minds to consider other options. However, on his rounds the consultant quickly assess an over reaction by A&E and tells Colin he's not as badly broken as all that and he can probably go home later today. It's nice when good news takes you by surprise.
2. I am allowed to sneak in mid morning for an unscheduled visit. Hospitals are odd, emotive places. More than once I am moved by others around the ward. People's lives coming to a close. It makes you feel lucky and sad and thoughtful.
3.My first call this morning is to Caroline and no questions asked I have their car for a few days. I am not normally a big supporter of having a car in a city, but my god it's good to have a car in this city today.
4. So it's back for afternoon visiting. Time to pack up and go home. We have as much spring in our steps as we can manage.
5. Taking it slow, soup for comfort and listening to records.
