Day 140: Sprotbrough Weir

Sprotbrough's a very small village between Consibrough and Doncaster, but it's one I thought had a lot of photographic potential when I drove through a few weeks ago looking for the nearby wind farm. There are two water channels running side by side, with very different characters, and at this time of year the sun sets almost at the directly upstream (search for the Photographer's Ephemeris if you haven't seen it already - very handy for planning a landscape session). Today's was rather lovely, and I got a few shots I was quite happy with. It felt good to get out with the tripod for a proper shoot today, and I'm so confident in the Tamron's abilities now that I didn't even bother taking the fast lens with me.

This was done with a bit of sensor dodging, so no filters used. As such, I've had no issues with softening of the image, or chromatic abberation, and can use the raw resolution of the lens.
