Four and Twenty Blackbirds

Well there's actually only one in this very special pie and he is used to stop the pastry from falling onto the meat (well I think that's his purpose as I haven't consulted with Mrs B!).

This is in fact a venison (locally sourced) pie brought to us today by a good friend and made by his wife. I have to say it was absolutely delicious and complemented nicely by a glass or two of fine Australian Shiraz wine!

Apologies for the first indoor blip in ages, but it has been overcast all day and I have been tied up with countryside pursuits!

A change is as good as a rest? - well there's not a sunrise or drop of water to be seen in today's blip!
