Cairns Day 3

Whew, big day!

Most of the group decided to sleep in so Jo, Myself, Mum, Kathie, Brad and Olivia. Headed off a little early.

We went to a rainforest just 10 minutes outside of Cairns called Crystal Cascades. What a fantastic place. The walk takes you along the gorge. Looking into the water we saw fish and turtles in the water. I hadn't brought my togs but pencilled it in for a swim later in the week.

After the gorge we went into Cairns city and met up with the others, swam in the Esplanade pool, went for ice cream and also visited the wildlife dome on top of the Cairns Casino. If you are ever in Cairns it is worth a visit. $20 for a 4 day pass. There are lots of local parrots and marsupials as well as a 4 metre saltwater croc. many of the parrots will land on your shoulder as you walk around.
