Mover and Shaker

Meet Joan, one of Starkville's movers and shakers. She was one of the first people I've met here, and during our first meeting she promptly recruited me to join the Board of Directors of the Heritage Museum. It's been a great ride.

Here, we are at the Museum, where Husband Dear is giving a talk to 50 middle school students on the sustainable stormwater management ideas showcased on the Museum's site. Per Joan's request, of course. :-)

She is warm, funny, and incredibly friendly, but she does not mess about, and gets things done. The folded arms convey it well.
