The nano brewery is in!
I'm doing a microbrewing msc at the university of sheffield. After a bit of a slow start, we finally got the nano brewery in, so we can experiment with recipes, seeing what a change in hops, malt and yeast do. It's not fully up and running yet, but this is Dom and I having a play.
We also had the task today o find £1000 worth of brewing related books - harder than you think.
This coming year, we should start courses at welbeck Abby, a 15000 acre estate south of sheffield. They have a school of artisan food and we will be taking courses to make food that use different yeasts in different ways. I'm very excited (and hungry) for this.
We were told yesterday that we can work with 'taste tideswell' to help them to design and produce a tideswell tipple in Time for the first food fair in May. They recently got a Lottery grant the rejuvenate the community and get back to its history of food production.
All in all it should be a good term, looking forward to the lab being set up and the tasting sessions that will follow ? cheers!
