Meetings, London and meat!

Well today I went for my first run in yonks! I'm very proud of myself. I signed up to a 10k marathon in march, so this was my first day of training and my first attempt at decent exercise since quitting smoking. I ran 3.6 miles - well I ran most of it.... Well some of it, haha! I was hoping to get a picture of the sunrise that the cat has been waking me up for every morning. Recently the sky has literally been blood red - epic! But this morning was distinctly meh. That will have to be a future blip. Went down to uni for a meeting about microbrewing, it went very well, I sometimes get a little disillusioned with the course as not much seems to happen, but it's still learning to walk. We went through the books that we chose yesterday - big amazon order coming soon! And talked about the experiments that we might do - apparently the department used to have a dedicated glass blower! But alas, he retired. They want an artisan blowI'm seeing my aunt in London today, and she's had interests in glass blowing from an art perspective, but she may have contacts!
So that went well, before heading off to London I went to dadas, a brew pub in sheffield owned by thornbridge brewery. I figured I need to start using my initiative a little more on my course, so I went in to ask about a placement - basically offering free work as bar staff. The manager seemed very keen, but he was busy so I need to email him about it.
Trip down to London, and now I'm off for a meaty fare with the family, and possibly a cheeky trip tithe brewdog brewpub after. If you haven't heard of brewdog - look them up, although possibly a little controversial at times, there marketing and business is fascinating. Im hoping to try a tasty lager.

Anyway, I hope your enjoying my posts so far, I always thought this blog thing was for self obsessed people haha, but the photo thing is fun and id like to keep a record of my brewing career.
