Thorpe Cloud, Derbyshire
A very frosty start to the trip down to Derbyshire to visit number 2 daughter. By the time I arrived the sun was out and the day was perfect for a walk out. We set off for Dovedale in cloudless blue skies along with quite a lot of other people enjoying the weekend outdoors - good to see. R suggested a short steep pull up this mini 'mountain. Typical Derbyshire topography, grassy slopes and limestone capped top. The ground was frozen and slippy in places. The path was not well defined and at times I clung to the hillside in moments of panic while daughter helped me up and calmed me down. I remember when it was the other way round! We did giggle a lot too as we went up so that was good. A really satisfying walk and great to be out together. Finished the day with a night out in Derby and a good meal.
