Sweep Stocks
A funny wee street sweeper in St Stephen Place, Stockbridge, Edinburgh. I often pass this lovely old façade when I walk at lunchtime but I've never taken pictures until today. I actually photographed the sweeper and the Market separately before the sweeper turned the corner and I was able to catch them both together. The driver was very friendly and went round the lane twice for me! Should have given him the Blipfoto address.
Other than that a children-to-school, rush-to-the-station morning following which the train was 10 minutes late. On the return journey I just missed a potentially great shot in Waverley - the new roof is uncovered at the East end of the station and the Victorian pillars have been covered with a scaffold and shiny white plastic surround, I think for painting. So, the scene on Platform 3 was quite stark and clinical - apart from one little window in the plastic about 20 feet up. As I looked, a helmeted workman all in orange poked his head out of the window. Oh! Camera! I had visions of a bleached vista with an orange head in a little window. But in the 60 seconds it took me to hoik my camera out, he had covered the window with plastic and taped it closed. Damn!
Now a relaxed evening with a nerdy Star Wars DVD and a glass of wine, continuing my New Years Resolution of "only buy expensive wine". This is brilliant, because it's nicer (mostly), I can't afford to buy much, and it completely stops me looking at buying for volume. Yes, there are 3 bottles available for the price of the 1 I bought tonight. But I'd only drink them.
Good health!
