My girl
They say when you photograph people in colour you photograph their clothes. But when you photograph people in B&W, you photograph their souls! I believe this is the case and boy, does MY GIRL have soul!
I find it strange that we can spend years, even our entire lifetime, trying to capture moments that added together, don't even amount to a few hours of our lifespan.
This is one such 'moment in time ' captured FOREVER. It is a sneak shot of my daughter just before returning to Scotland to continue her studies. When I ask her if I can have a photograph, she always says she can't pose, can't smile. She also believes she can't cook, can't sing, can't remember, infact, finds it hard to do most things! She is one of the 'Little Misses' , my very own 'Little Miss Can't !'
Happy to say, she has got it all SO wrong and is now close to completing her third degree at university, proving she HAS the power of memory! She CAN dance and has the certificates and medals by the dozen, She CAN sing and has recordings to prove it, ,she has the most beautiful smile and infectious laugh AND-----She CAN cook (well------- on a good day!!! ) But I guess her lack of confidence in herself and her own abilities helps make her the' sweetie' she is.
As for me,I think she has been listening to me playing my Barry Manilow CD's too often. My response?
"You came along just like a song and brightened my day, who'd a' believed that you were part of a dream, now it all seems light years away. You see, I feel sad when you're sad, I feel glad when you're glad, if you only knew what I'm going through, I just can't smile. And now you know, I can't smile without you, I can't laugh and I can't sing, I'm finding it hard to do anything."
without YOU!
