I strongly advise against it
This lupin is sending out its teeny tiny shoots for the spring already. I think it will regret it.
Although we've had a colder snap at the same time as the rest of the UK, we're not always very good at doing proper cold here and we haven't had the decent frost we need to make everything rest and stay below ground.
The hedges and shrubs in our garden only seem to have just got the message that it's winter and our bonkers Cherry tree has finally given up trying to flower. But we still have self-seeded strawberries (well, blackbird-seeded) that are in fruit and the honeysuckle is growing again already.
I had the urge to take a damp macro pic after being inspired by this one: http://www.blipfoto.com/entry/1676076
but a walk on the burrows brought very little my way and I came home to a pile of uninspired fuzzy mush. I nipped outside just now and got this lupin just in time.
