Inauguration

Gibran, pictured here, is the Director of Cultura Inglesa, Belem, the school where I'm working this month. His family inaugurated a new centre tonight, the third here in the city, and Bb, Helen and I were invited along. There were speeches, tours of the school, a jazz band, drinks and nibbles and a good few professional photographers there from newspapers. We felt like mini celebrities as Gibram was kind enough to thank us in his speech, when he was talking about the training of his teachers being one of the things that sets their schools apart from their competitors. Then we all (including Bb!) had many photos taken! This is Gibram with staff members, including Nilce, the new manager, who's also one of our trainees this month.
