Go on - fill yer boots!

Oh you did...

Tess has a stinking cold and a hacking cough. She's been a bit miserable in the night but she has this massive bouncy spirit that keeps prompting her to boing back into action.
Maybe we should call her Tigger.

We went for a walk in the middle of the day. The wind was cruel and Tess had a coughing fit. After about half an hour we all decided we'd had enough and headed home. Richard gave Tess a piggy back ride for a while because she looked so pitiful.

Talking of piggies...
I heard on Twitter that there have been complaints about the kids' TV programme, Peppa Pig. We don't really watch it anymore because Tess is a bit too old but we did once watch it a lot and I loved it. It's fun and funny harmless loveliness.
Or so I thought...

Apparently there's too much jumping in muddy puddles and that sort of irresponsible mucking about....
Can you imagine?
Fancy letting your kids jump in a puddle and get wet. And muddy.
And then another one.
And another one.
Until she actually gets wet and water fills her boots.
And then one so big and muddy that all you see is a caramel river slooshing up into the air and covering her clothes.

There's a curious rumour that that is how modern children are behaving these days. And apparently it's all down to Peppa Pig. Never been done before. Kids never used to jump in puddles when I was a kid....

No, no. Far too naughty...

SPLASH!

GIGGLE!

Ooh - is that the sound of a previously unhappy child having lots of fun?

Who would do such a thing?
Surely that would mean...
... maybe having to wash a pair of jeans... ?
Tut tut tut tut tut tut...

Fancy...

You know some people even let their children climb trees...

Naughty.

Where do I complain about children being naughty by having fun and getting mucky?
It's not natural. It must be the fault of something they've watched on TV...

Slaps forehead several times with palm in disbelief and dispair

Telegraph: Peppa Pig making children naughty
