Boiling Beetroot

I took the day off work today to make my birthday cake for when Sara and co. come over tomorrow. It was my first attempt at a chocolate and beetroot cake and it was a complete disaster! As the layers cooled down they turned severely concave and actually seeped through the wire rack. It was too late to save them but luckily I had enough ingredients left to make a second attempt which thankfully worked out a lot better. Phew - I couldn't have a birthday meal without cake!
