... of spring.
Despite the so far relatively mild, wet and windy winter seemingly causing havoc with nature, the one thing which seems to at least realise it's January is the snowdrop.
I adore snowdrops - as well as their tiny stature and delicate appearance, to me they are a sign that spring's on the way.
After dunging my paddock late morning, I had a mooch around the garden with blipping in mind. Most of my snowdrops (I have loads of them, mainly singles - my favourites - with a few doubles thrown in) are as yet still just coming into bud. But I found this poor little open double which had obviously succumbed to the thrashing winds which have re-appeared after 2-3 days of calmer weather. It was flat on the ground. I thought a close up of it would make a nice blip, so here it is ...
