Le Cochon Qui Rit

Another relaxing day at the beach followed by a visit to a neighbouring town's festival. The town is Città Sant'Angelo which sits on top of a hill - as do most of the towns and villages here. The festival was all about food, from Abruzzo and Sicily and we ate very well indeed. Further through the town we found a lovely courtyard with a wine tasting and, later, a cheese-making demonstration.

The cheese was in hot water and repeatedly turned and smoothed by a cheesemaker constantly dipping his hands in boiling water. His grand finale was to smooth a big round of cheese and then cut it under the (by then) milky water so you couldn't see what he was doing and then - ta da - it's a pig!
