Belly Up

"Hmmm...we didn't cover this in swimming class..."

This poor little guy has been struggling to stay up straight for almost a week now. Honestly, I expected him not to make it through the night the first time I saw him upside down. After an initial squeal with the thought that one of our beloved pets had died, Nid passed it off as, "He's playing...see." I don't know about that theory. Sometimes it does look like he's having fun, working really hard to swim down in the right direction then doing flips as he gently floats back up to the top of the tank, belly up. If he had it his way, though, I don't think he'd be in this predicament. Someone else said it's "because he ate too much." A warning to all of us about overeating!
