In training for the Olympics
Pippin will hate me for posting this picture, but I couldn't resist it. It's a really miserable day here, so we put her coat on again when we took her for a walk. Like in this one I posted of her hiding behind the fridge. She hates it, but I think she looks hilarious. It's like one of those Adidas tracksuits from the 1980s! And she's got a black one with no sleeves that looks like she's wearing a tank top. Poor thing. I would never dress her in little clothes, but these two coats make such a difference because they keep her tummy dry and make it easier to wash the mud off her.
She barked at a man the other day for some reason, and he just laughed at her and said "it's hard to sound intimidating when you're wearing a jumper, isn't it?" So that shut her up! Honestly, sometimes it is really embarrassing when she barks at people. It seems to be folk with no dog that she takes exception to. But sometimes it turns out that they have a dog after all, and then she feels a bit silly.
Actually, she barked at an alsatian this morning and then wished she hadn't because, as it got closer, she realised it was a lot bigger than she thought it was. It's a bit like in Father Ted when he's explaining to Father Dougal about the small cows being "far away". I've tried quoting this to Pippin a few times, but she just cannot get her head round the concept of perspective!
