This fellow is almost as common a sight around my house as the Buddha. Ganesha is a Hindu god who is believed to remove obstacles. I think he should be the patron saint, to borrow a term from my catholic upbringing, of therapists. I consider him to be mine. You should look up the tale of his origins, it is rich.
