Diffraction

I was just playing about with a torch and a glass of water when I found that it could create this amazing light diffraction pattern. You can clearly see how the light has been split into hundreds of small strips, although I'm not so sure why some strips are longer than others. The funky yellowy tint to the glass then creates even more contrast.

I had a really great time making this image and I suppose it shows that a little fiddling about and a camera can really get some beautiful results.
